Job Purpose
To maximise sales through delivering exceptional operational standards and customer service.
Note: Please do not apply for this position if you do not have at least 6 months as a supervisor within a retail environment
Key Responsibilities
People Management
- Set staff training plan based on their abilities and skills. Ensure all staff understand and make effort to achieve the objective
- Read and understand all information from Store Support Centre and Area Managers. Make sure you memorise and understand all information shared in team talks
- Abides by the uniform policy, looking neat and tidy at all times
- Always say hello and smile to every customer
- React and apologise to customers who have a complaint
- Train staff based on their training plan, check and evaluate progress every week
- Understand how to make an efficient daily rota based on hourly sales and work volume which keeps good standards during trading hours without any delayed work
- Instruct staff constantly based on number of customers and number of tasks
- Understand how to produce all payroll reports on time
VM Management
- Use the daily store checklist everyday and rectify all errors by the end of the day
- Always make sure you clean all areas correctly and on time. Instruct staff on cleaning responsibilities based on daily rota and ensure standards are maintained
- Understand POP rules and apply correctly. Always return POPs and equipment to correct place after use. Train all staff on POP rules
- Complete layout change according to manager’s plan and within time
- Check the replenishment progress and instruct staff based on priorities, without leaving empty piles
- Conduct tidying responsibilities during trading hours and complete before closing
- Change and maintain displays according to guidelines and rules
Stock Management
- Organise boxes by sub divisions and items
- Understand and follow the delivery procedure reporting any errors to SSC by the end of the delivery day
- Complete transfers within due date and without errors
- Check write offs daily and register before Area Manager visits
- Check and sort out faulty items daily ensuring nothing is left anywhere
- Check and sort out untagged/unpacked items ensuring nothing is left anywhere
- Ensure customer holds are cleared within a day
Routine Office Work
- Understand all till rules and procedures
- Understand and follow all Health and Safety rules and regulations
- Check banking daily and report to SSC on time
- Check and find all maintenance issues, completing the maintenance log sheet by the end of the day
- Check staff bags and lockers to prevent stock loss. Check signing in/out book for fire procedure. Make sure that nothing left inside lockers over night and the alarm on the exit door is set at all times
- Be aware of external security risks and instruct staff accordingly. Ensure staff are always allocated near the store entrance
- Understand open/closing procedures and carry out according to the managers schedule without errors
- Store all documents correctly ensuring nothing is left anywhere and all documents on the board are laminated
Sales Management
- Understand how to read sales summary and line lists identifying best/worst sellers compared to company ranking
- Complete all price changes within due date following the rules
Profit Management
- Save energy and stationary for maximum profit

Benefits and Salary
The job grade for this role is Supervisor. Depending on store location the hourly rate is as follows:
Urban stores £7.00 per hour Suburban stores £6.50 per hour
